In July of 2008 my Grandmother turned 101 years old.

A few years before I had asked her “ why is it that we have all the labour saving devices under the sun yet we don’t have time for anything?” The answer that she gave me was so long, I took notes on the lap top!

She could get up every morning before dawn, milk a cow, collect the eggs, cook a hot breakfast for many workers, bake bread and wash by hand all without any electricity and there was me struggling to get a load of washing on the line or remembering to take a DVD back to the shop!

 What had happened over those few generations ?

As time went by I began implementing more and more of my Grandmother’s wisdom. I took the best wisdom of her days and combined it with the technological convenience of today.

In June of 2008 I threw in my day job as a lawyer in an attempt to live a simple, joyful, more sustainable, more family oriented life. And so the motto ..... live simply...live joyfully... follow the old paths, they are tried and true was born and the never ending quest began.
